![]() Out of 10 points, I rate ‘Epic’ a total of 7.8. ![]() Like I said earlier, many parts are quite hilarious, while some involved serious battles and intense rides. It’s a fascinating fairytale-like story to kids, and an impressive adventure-based theme for the adults too. It’s really beautifully crafted for a solid piece of entertainment. I have had a great and a relaxing time watching this piece of work. The voice-over suits very well to each characters in the movie. Instead, I find the movie is a bit too short. Overall, everything is kept in balance that makes this film interesting and exciting to watch all along. Much can be explored between their romance, but they appears to have not quite a good ending since MK turned back to normal human size. There are some romantic moments as the story progresses (between MK and Nod) but I find their relationship came too short. There are some parts with great laughs (particularly from the slug and the snail). There are some intense battle scenes between the good and the evil (leafman group with the Boggans group). What a wonderful story, and it’s being carried out in a very good pace and development. And from there on, the adventure unfolds she started off her journey to help battle the evils that try to destroy the forest, made new friends, felt in love, and believed and appreciates on what her father did are all true and real. She then accidentally encountered the tiny group, and had herself turned as small as them too. Then, came his daughter to visit him, and yet very unhappy over how her dad is so madly attached to his research for a tiny group of warriors living in the forest protecting it. It first started with a man searching for ‘something’ in the forest which he believes in for many years and which had cost him failure of his career and marriage too. At least, no major flaws or bad aspects I can see from this. ![]() There is no weaknesses I can find from this movie. Yes, many critics out there didn’t give the best reviews or chart-topping ratings to this, but I’m in the few of the exception. For quite some time, I have had not seen any animated features to be as great, or as ‘epic’ as this one since Toy Story 3. It’s entertainment at its best all the way. Once there, she must help a team of fun and whimsical characters to battle the evils and save their world.įirst of all, I do really enjoy this film from the very beginning till the end. It’s ‘Epic’, an animated feature film that tells the story of a teenage girl, MK who finds herself in a secret world within the forest. I’m very sleepy now but then there is a sudden urge in me to immediately write a movie review for the film I have so much enjoyed just now. I have just returned from watching a midnight movie. ![]() He’s prepared for the moment and the responsibility that comes with visibility, using his platform to speak out for the Asian American community and readying to springboard his own projects.īut the stakes are high when you’re making history, even more so in a pandemic. It appears this is AMC’s new business model: smaller and more luxurious complexes. AMC, since the infusion of capital to renovate theaters (from new owners Wanda Group) has been refreshing older theaters with these leather recliners. ![]() ![]() Maple Ridge as of late has seen some new businesses open up near AMC – on a recent Saturday night I observed quite a crowd (mostly UB folks) at the cafes and restaurants in the plaza next to AMC, which had been empty just a few years ago when I first moved to Buffalo. This week and next only four films are on the schedule. I visited tonight for Oblivion – the left side is closed, they temporarily moved over the ticket counter, not much on the left side has been done thus far (the lobby remains in tact, but it’s now a “hard hat area”). With that said – Niagara Falls Boulevard in Amherst would be an excellent place for a multiplex, what with that UB2020 scam just passed (which calls for building the University via rapidly raising tuition and implementing strange new fees the administration can’t justify like the “Academic Excellence Fee”) – if UB expands in Amherst as some developers like American Campus Communities are betting on with new properties – is a 10-14 plex in Amherst out of the question? The only strange thing is AMC otherwise withdraw from Buffalo, giving up all the sites they inherited from General Cinema (University closed, Galleria went to Regal, McKinley went to Dipson) – this is the only hold out, an original 1980’s AMC at that, 10 years after they sold off many theaters of this era. I’d say so – AMC converted the place to all digital (although not Sony 4K digital, oddly enough – I suspect Regal has gone full Sony 4K at least at Transit, Galleria and Quaker Crossing). It still holds its own being close to University at Buffalo’s North Campus (although the school runs free midnight movies at the Dipson’s Amherst Theater on Saturday across from UB South) – although I wish AMC would retreat from the market altogether and for Dipson to take over its lease as I think a more localized approach to the film programing would lead to a more interesting movie selection. The theater also is experimenting with different price structures – last summer all shows Monday-Thursday were $4.50, now they are discounting M-Th adult admission to $6.75 with Fri-Sun at $9. The staff/management keep the place spotless. The theater also never received an upgrade to the AMC of the 90’s look (white, blue, pink) and still has it’s 1980’s charm (dark red, light browns). The seats also appear to be original as well. In truth upgrading it to stadium seating would present many limitations – the projection booths are a few steps up – there’s no height to pull it off without gutting the place. They have yet to do a full digital upgrade. It hasn’t upgraded to stadium seating, although Theatre #2 has digital projection for 3D showing some signs of confidence from AMC.
